Hats                 I. When I was a young girl, I dreampt                 Of Hats each one a possibility,
a fantasy, a road to follow, role to play.

I had fancy ladies' hats --
     Holdovers from Easters past.
Ball caps, newsboy, and (of course) the little girl innocence of a   wreath of flowers.

Eternal DamnationAs the fatal cut pierces your being, you leave your mortal body and you're ripped beneath the surface. You are pulled into darkness as stone tears through your skin. A fire rages inside of you, burning away the last remenents of mortality. The flames carmelize the blood which no longer courses through your veins. You land, but not on ground. Well now, isn't "economic downturn" a bitch? Just as I am getting settled in my new job, and the new solvency it affords me, it gets yanked out from under me. They can't afford to keep me -- so they don't!

I am now unemployed, and still in shock. I bear them no ill will, and I want to pity ( I am positive the overall economic climate has affected some far worse than me.) But, I am just... shocked. Its very "what did I do to deserve this?"
